Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Unfortunately I cannot currently produce any photos for this project under a signed NDA, however I am able to talk about my experiences with the team at Longcross Studios!
• Working for the props department at Longcross studios taught me first-hand experience of what it was like to work as a prop maker in the film industry. Although previously considered, this time in the crafts side of the film industry has cemented the idea of prop making as my future profession as the atmosphere and type of work produced consistent satisfaction and enjoyment for me throughout enrolment
• This work saw me leading a team of two other modellers in creating and fletching large amounts of both real and stunt arrows for the upcoming Doctor Strange film under the working title “Stellar Vortex”.
• Beside my team, I was able to socialise and become acquainted with other members of the crew. Here, I was able to explore and ask questions about the work other people were doing and what kind of props they were working on. This led to me quickly becoming an asset on site, allowing me to broaden my knowledge on standard industry practices as crew actively included and engaged me on different projects.
• For an 8-6 day, I made sure to always arrive on and leave site 15 minutes earlier/later respectively. This allowed me to settle in and be ready to start at 8, while giving me time to clean my area and prepare for the following day just after 6. Although this wasn’t mandatory, I wanted to make a keen impression for those I was working under.
• Under the strict rules of Marvel Studios and Disney, vigorous COVID-19 health and safety was implemented. After several tests, I have remained negative throughout.
